The association was founded on the 14th of November 1987.
The purposes of the association are to nurture the interests of Faroese composers, to protect their rights and to actively seek to improve the composers' artistic and financial circumstances.


Holgar Jacobsen

Sørvágur, Faroe Islands

Holgar Jacobsen, born 1963 in Sørvágur, is a Faroese composer and songwriter who sings his songs while playing the electric guitar. 

He was active playing in the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s with bands like Ghost Riders, Sørvings, Holgar & Villmenn, Villmenn and Tinganest until launching his solo carrier.

Currently Holgar gives solo concerts, singing his songs, while playing the acoustic guitar.  In 2014 he played solo livingroom concerts at Hoyma, arranged by Grót, in Gøta and F’ljóð, arranged by Elin B. Heinesen, in Tórshavn.

Holgar Jacobsen has released two solo albums on Tutl Records, the 1st one, “Ongan Veg” in 2010, and “Kanska Tú Svav” in 2013.
