The association was founded on the 14th of November 1987.
The purposes of the association are to nurture the interests of Faroese composers, to protect their rights and to actively seek to improve the composers' artistic and financial circumstances.


Pauli Hansen

 FO-100 Tórshavn, Faroe Islands

Usually called Palli. Born in the village of Vágur. He has worked as a schoolteacher at Tórshavnar Kommunuskúli, Velbastaðar Skúli and during the last years at Eysturskúlin. He is also an educational consultant at Landsmiðstøðin (LMS) in music, medias and English. 
He has sung in choirs for many years- first in Ljómur from Vágur, later in Cantus Borealis and Havnarkórið and now he is a member of the choir Tarira. He sings baryton or tenor. Pauli has always worked with music- as a guitarist, folkmusician, singer, educator and conducter. Beside this he has written folksongs on the cd Gluggamynd and children´s music on the cd´s Eplapetur and Loppugras. 
During the last years Pauli has written works for choirs and instrumental music for among others TariraAldubáranHúsakórið í Keypmannahavn, Tórshavnar Kamarkór, GHM and Glymur. He has been educated in composition by Sunleif Rasmussen.
